Summer Camps at BSD

Learn to code this summer with four exciting new tech courses: Video Game Development, Explore Coding, Wearable Tech Fashion, and Robotics Competition. Campers jump straight into writing real code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C++) from day one, using industry standard software and best practices. Over the course of each week, kids will be introduced to new programming concepts and fundamentals while creating their own unique tech project. Absolutely no experience required!

Pizza on Fridays and a BSD t-shirt is included!

Video Game Development

Students begin with an introduction to Unity, the 3D software that produced Pokemon Go, Temple Run, and countless popular video games and apps. We then apply the fundamental concepts of JavaScript including variables, functions, animation, physics, conditionals, loops, and collision detection. Throughout the course, students build a variety of basic games while adopting new skills and best practices.

Robotics Competition

Join one of the fastest growing fields in tech by exploring the ways in which robotics and electronics affect every aspect of our lives. Over the course of the week, campers will work in teams to design, build, and program functional robots to solve problems and challenges.

Explore Coding

What is code and what types of things can we build with it? Campers spend the week learning about the fundamentals of computer programing by developing logic games and puzzles. Using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, instructors contextualize code with real world examples including applications in agriculture, automotive, and entertainment.

Wearable Tech Fashion

Participants explore the fundamentals of electronics and programming by constructing fashionable, wearable tech accessories. From light up key chains, bracelets, flower crowns and shoes to kinematic wire sculptures, the students will learn about code, electricity and magnetism. Each camper takes home their own pair of custom LED light up shoes!
